Afghanistan Ministry of Public Health and GHD/EMPHNET Announce Job Vacancy for the Position of FETP Technical Advisor
The Afghanistan Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) and GHD/EMPHNET are currently seeking interested candidates for the role of Technical Advisor (TA) for the Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) in Afghanistan.
An FETP is an in-service training program in applied epidemiology and public health practice modeled after Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS). GHD/EMPHNET, with the financial support of CDC, is establishing an FETP specifically designed for Afghanistan. This program is intended to establish a sustainable human resource development capacity in the country that is ultimately owned and led by the country. The Intermediate FETP (a one-year program) will focus on public health professionals involved in polio and immunization activities. The program will be within the Afghanistan Public Health Institute (ANPHI), an educational institute within the Afghanistan Ministry of Public Health (MoPH).
The TA position will be technically supporting the Afghanistan FETP program of the MoPH. The intended effect resulting from this support will be the strengthening of capabilities to address public health surveillance and epidemiology-related priorities through capacity building activities offered by the FETP.
