Overview

Yemen-Sanaa

The Yemen FETP program is an important program within the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MOPHP). Prior to the establishment of the program in 2011, three Yemeni residents completed the first year of training as part of the Jordan FETP.  The residents returned to Yemen to complete the second year of the training program. The Yemen FETP received strong support from the MOPHP, and a memorandum of understanding was signed by the MOPHP, CDC and WHO to formally establish the program. The first official cohort was started training in 2012 with 12 residents enrolled. The Yemen FETP program was designed to develop the foundation for using epidemiological data for policy decision making.
