Who We Are

The Eastern Mediterranean Public Health Network (EMPHNET) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting better health for people in the Eastern Mediterranean Region (EMR) and other priority countries. Since its establishment in 2009, EMPHNET has advanced applied epidemiology, strengthened public health programs, expanded public health research, and empowered communication and networking to improve public health practice across the region.

Who We Are

The Eastern Mediterranean Public Health Network (EMPHNET) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting better health for people in the Eastern Mediterranean Region (EMR) and other priority countries. Since its establishment in 2009, EMPHNET has advanced applied epidemiology, strengthened public health programs, expanded public health research, and empowered communication and networking to improve public health practice across the region.

 

Through our implementing arm, Global Health Development (GHD), we work side-by-side with ministries of health, public health agencies, universities, research institutes, community organizations, international organizations, NGOs, and UN agencies. These collaborations allow us to respond to national priorities, support robust public health systems, and promote evidence-based decision-making grounded in country needs.

 

Guided by its vision “Better health and well-being for people in the Eastern Mediterranean Region” we work to create opportunities for change, enabling partners to access the technical expertise, training, and support needed to address complex public health challenges.
