Announcement and Call for Submissions [Now Open] Deadline for submission: May 30th, 2015 Because we believe in the power of an expressive image, and we also strive to inform the world of the great impact that Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) residents and graduates have on public health, we are happy to announce the launch of our 2015 FETP Photo Contest. The contest is aimed at documenting the work FETP residents and graduates are involved in, using photography. We want to increase the visibility of our FETPs regionally and globally. The contest will also serve to highlight the achievements FETP residents have made within their respective country programs. While promoting these programs on the EMPHNET website, visitors, members, and target audiences will learn more about the work such programs engage in within their countries. Therefore, if you are an FETP resident or graduate and you have a flare for the camera, kindly send us your entries. We are looking for entries that represent expressive, inspiring, aspects of your work, and which place the spotlight on the humanitarian side of your work whether during outbreak investigations, rapid response activities, health awareness campaigns, research, or any other public health endeavor your country program is involved in. So, start shooting while making sure that your images satisfy one or more of the below categories. Categories 1) Immunization 2) Outbreak investigation 3) Emergency response 4) Research 5) Field work or community work 6) Health education or campaigns Eligibility and Photo Quality 1. The contest is open to FETP residents and graduates. 2. Contestants can submit up to five entries. 3. All photos should be submitted in high-resolution electronic format. 4. Only colored photos will be considered. 5. It is preferred that your entries are not less than 2 megabytes. 6. Please label each photo with your full name and photo title (who, where, and what). 7. PLEASE NOTE: Cell phone and low-resolution images will not be considered. 8. Image manipulation is NOT permitted; except if it involves cropping, minor burning, dodging, and/or color correction. 9. Please submit each photo in a high-resolution electronic format using Dropbox and send the link to comm@emphnet.net along with a completed and signed Entry Form document. 10.Deadline for submission is: May 30th, 2015. Announcement of Results Winners will be notified by email by (July 1st , 2015). Prizes EMPHNET will be giving away three prizes, based on the recommendation of the panel of judges who will be evaluating all entries. 1st Prize: an all-expense paid opportunity to attend EMPHNET’s regional conference 2nd Prize: an all-expense paid opportunity to attend a regional training relevant to the winner’s line of work, sponsored by EMPHNET 3rd Prize: a professional high-quality camera NOTE Upon submission, all entries are the sole property of EMPHNET.
