Early Registration Still Open for the Second International Conference on Re-Emerging Infectious Diseases
August 28, 2018

The Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Virology Education are organizing the Second International Conference on Re-Emerging Infectious Diseases. The Conference will be held March 13 – 15, 2019, at the African Union Conference Center in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This conference serves as the catalyst to safeguard global health security, improving on responding to and preventing acute public health threats and improving patient outcomes. It is open for healthcare professionals, researchers, public health experts, and policy makers. Young investigators from all over the world are encouraged to engage in the field of re-emerging infectious diseases. It is the only conference in Africa that focuses on (re-)emerging infectious diseases. It will include oral abstract and poster presentations, lectures from invited speakers, debates, and panel discussions. The conference will focus on issues relevant to determinants of emerging and re-emerging diseases; global health security and disease threats; health systems and systems for health; and innovations to combat infectious diseases threat. It will also focus the  role of national public health institutes in health security in Africa; the role of next generation and whole genomic sequencing in addressing infectious diseases threat; and the role of social sciences in disease outbreaks.
