Announcing Upcoming Webinar in EMPHNET WEBi Series
September 28, 2021

We are delighted to share with you the attached announcement for our upcoming Webinar titled “Public-Private Partnership to Promote Primary Health Care Including Immunization” which we will be hosting on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, from 17:00 to 18:30 Jordan Local Time (UTC+3).

The Astana Declaration on Primary Health Care (PCH) reiterated that PHC is a cornerstone of a sustainable health system for universal health coverage (UHC) and health-related Sustainable Development Goals. It called for governments to give high priority to PHC in partnership with their public and private sector organizations and other stakeholders. To improve the health care delivery system and to overcome the limitations of financial, technical, and human resources aspects, public-private sector partnerships should be considered for health reforms. The goal of this webinar is to discuss evidence on the use of public-private sector partnerships in the provision of PHC services including immunization, reported challenges and recommendations.

The webinar session will focus on

  • Highlighting the impact of Public Private Partnership on the PHC with a focus on immunization and polio eradication.
  • Identifying the main challenges of PPPs at the global, and EMRO countries by income.
  • Discussing appropriate strategies and modalities to minimize the PPPs challenges to reach the immunization goal.

Participating experts include

  • Gena Hill, Associate Director for policy, partnerships within the global immunization division at US CDC).
