Interns Corner
Jouman Barakat-Media and Communication Intern

“I spent the month working on launching a podcast for EMPHNET, where the first series focuses on Field Epidemiology Training Programs and their implementation in the Eastern Mediterranean Region (EMR). I am quite thankful for the opportunity that EMPHNET has generously provided for me.”

Lujain Al-Omari-Health Protection and Promotion Intern

“I learned a lot about the healthcare system in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, writing grants, and epidemiology. This opportunity also helped me improve my writing skills and Public Health research methods.”

Jack Carew-Disease Control and Prevention Intern

“My experience with EMPHNET has shown me that I would likely enjoy spending more time working with the national health apparatus in Jordan and that there may be opportunities to pursue here in the future. Furthermore, I have had the chance to develop my professional network in Jordan and have connections I might be able to rely on for future collaborations. Finally, my co-workers at EMPHNET have inspired me daily with their kindness and commitment to their work, and I hope that in my career going forward I am able to bring the same degree of character to public health issues.”

Vivian Opoku-Research and Policy Intern

“I had an excellent internship experience that surpassed my expectations. It was engaging, informative, and it provided me with valuable skills and knowledge. This internship has solidified my passion for clinical research and health education. It has equipped me with the necessary skills and knowledge to confidently use my career aspirations. I am excited about the next steps in my professional journey, and I am confident that the lessons learned, and connections made during this internship will significantly contribute to my future success. I extend my deepest gratitude to Dr. Sara Abu Khudair, the entire team, and everyone who supported me through this transformative journey.”
