  • COVID-19 Resources for Health Professionals and the Public

    General Information on Infection Prevention and Control:  The Centers’ for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Global COVID-19 webpage CDC’s  Operational Considerations for Containing COVID-19 in non-U.S. Healthcare Settings . The World Health Organization’s (WHO) Infection Prevention and Control Guidance. All WHO country and technical COVID-19 guidance is available by topic  here.  The National Institute of Health (NIH) COVID-19 Treatment Guidelines. Virtual Training and Communities of Practice:  The CDC, in affiliation with the WHO and other healthcare experts, is offering a COVID-19 Infection Prevention and Control Global Webinar Series.  Free weekly seminars  allow  questions and offer simultaneous translation into Spanish, French, Russian, Arabic, Portuguese, and possibly additional languages.  Seminars focus on “practical advice and implementation considerations” for audiences worldwide.  Registration, required for each session, is  available here. Project ECHO is  regularly-updated catalog of training organized by top healthcare experts, including from the CDC.  Providers can register for any of these sessions by writing to echoreplication@salud.unm.edu.  Some sessions are offered in other languages, including Spanish and French.  The NIH’s free, weekly COVID-19 Scientific Interest Group Lecture Series.  Lectures can be accessed live and after each event here. Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE): The USAID-supported website Compass for Social and Behavior Change contains a collection of links to COVID-19 Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) resources.  The free, expert-vetted COVID-19 public messaging materials is translated into over 30 languages. The Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs and School of Public Health’s COVID-19 Communication Network. University-hosted COVID-19 Training and Resources:  These sites represent some of a wide number of frequently updated academic COVID-19 academic compilations in the United States. Brown University ’s Project HOPE offers free COVID-19 training for health care workers.  Access is provided to downloadable training guides, videos, and simulation exercises. Harvard University’s T. H. Chan School of Public Health hosts a Coronavirus Pandemic Question & Answer Series that streams live on Facebook and their Forum website.  Johns Hopkins University’s Coronavirus Resource Center offers weekly COVID-19 webinars, general information on COVID-19, maps for tracking global cases and trends, and testing information.  It also offers a free English-language COVID-19 Contact Tracing course.  Tulane University‘s COVID-19 page features faculty expert videos on COVID-19.  The university also releases a daily newsletter that features upcoming virtual events, highlights new research, and offers region-specific surveillance headlines. Resources provided by U.S. Medical  Associations and Professional  Societies: Many U.S. medical associations and societies are hosting webinars and providing COVID-19 guidance written for and by healthcare practitioners. American Academy of Pediatrics      American College of Chest Physicians  American College of Surgeons – This group also issues a twice-weekly newsletter that provides updates on best practices and includes a “Surgeon Voices in the COVID-19 Era” interview series. COVID-19 Forecasts: Imperial College of London  Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation Los Alamos National Laboratory  Massachusetts Institute of Technology  University of Geneva/Swiss Data Science Center   Other free, publicly available modeling websites.
