Job Description

Instructional Designer and Team Lead

We are seeking a dynamic Instructional Designer and Team Lead to join and lead our eLearning Unit. This role requires a dual focus: hands-on instructional design of digital learning experiences in public health, and strategic leadership of a multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will combine creative instructional design skills with strong project management and team leadership capabilities to deliver impactful learning products and advance the unit’s mission.

 

Scope of Work

Tasks, activities, duties, and responsibilities include:

  1. Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to translate technical public health content into engaging and effective instructional materials.
  2. Design both foundational and advanced storyboards aligned with learning objectives and audience needs.
  3. Review session content for clarity, pedagogical quality, and alignment with defined goals.
  4. Provide structured feedback to eLearning developers to enhance interactivity and instructional integrity.
  5. Develop implementation guides, facilitator manuals, visual themes, and other course support documentation.
  6. Contribute to the execution of Training Needs Assessments (TNAs) to inform instructional strategy and priorities.
  7. Design formative and summative assessments to measure learning effectiveness.
  8. Facilitate and support webinars and virtual learning events to promote knowledge exchange across regions
  9. Lead the strategic and operational functions of the eLearning Unit.
  10. Oversee project planning, execution, and quality assurance for all eLearning initiatives.
  11. Supervise daily operations, mentor team members, and foster a collaborative, performance-driven culture.
  12. Collaborate with internal teams (PMO, Communications, Quality, etc.) and external partners and stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective project delivery.
  13. Represent the eLearning Unit in high-level meetings with stakeholders and partners, promoting its vision and exploring collaboration opportunities.
  14. Report regularly to senior leadership on team performance, project milestones, and strategic direction.

 

Job Specification

Education and Specialization

  • Minimum Years of Experience Required: 5 to 8 years.
  • Experience Field: Instructional Design with a focus on eLearning.
  • Other Related Experience: Project Management skills, Team Leadership skill, Time management skills. 

 

Functional Competencies Required

  1. Familiarity with eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline 360, Rise 360).
  2. Working knowledge of LMS platforms and webinar tools (e.g., Moodle, Zoom, MS Teams).
  3. Graphic design or visual communication skills are an asset.
