Dr. Abdul Hakim Kohlani
Yemen FETP Director

Dr. Abdul-Hakeem Kohlani received his Bachelor of Medicine-Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S) from King Faisal Bin Abdul-Aziz University in Dammam, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). He holds a master’s degree in Public Health & Tropical Medicine (MPH & TM) in Tulane University, USA. In 2012, Dr. Kohlani was a Temporary Advisor for the WHO in consultation for Integrated Diseases Surveillance in Cairo- EMRO and was also appointed as Project Director for Schistosomiasis Control Project. From 2013 to 2014, he was a member of the Strategic Technical Advisory Group for the Neglected Tropical Diseases. Dr. Kohlani served as a Director General for Disease Control and Surveillance at Ministry of Public Health and Population in Yemen for 14 years. Regarding his main achievements, he established the integrated surveillance system, and participated in eradication efforts of poliomyelitis in Yemen. Dr. Kohlani published two papers in AFP surveillance in Yemen and one paper on Schistosomiasis.
