Dr. Muntasir Elhassan
Sudan FETP Director

Dr. Muntasir Osman got his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Gezira in 1999. He obtained his Master of Science in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from Witwatersrand (WITS) University-South Africa. He has a broad knowledge of principles and techniques in epidemiology and public health as well as his excellent knowledge in programs of communicable diseases surveillance, outbreak investigation, and control and prevention. Dr. Osman also has a rich experience in epidemiology and public health as he has filled several positions in different organizations and institutions. He also served in the Sudan Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH) for ten years in various positions. From 2013 to 2015, he was WHO’s Temporary Adviser at WHO/EMRO, and from 2015 to 2018, he was an Epidemiologist at the WHO Iraq Office. Additionally, Dr. Osman worked in several humanitarian aid organizations such as UNICEF, and he collaborated and coordinated with UN agencies. In 2022, he was assigned as the Director for Sudan FETP
