Yemen’s Field Epidemiology Training Program was established to improve the public health system by addressing shortages in public health workers who can help combat the public health ramifications of the humanitarian crisis facing the country.

Achievements

Conducting over 150 outbreak investigations such as for Cholera, Diphtheria, H1N1, Measles, Dengue, and cVDPV1
For the COVID-19 pandemic, aiding with the preparedness and response through supporting the Ministry of Public Health and Population
Conducting over 85 surveillance systems analyses, 45 surveillance system evaluations and 40 planned studies, while also participating in scientific committees for different diseases such as Cholera, COVID-19
Holding five National Yemen Field Epidemiology Training Program Conferences
Publishing 26 published papers in peer-reviewed journals and presenting 100 poster abstracts in conferences
