The Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Program (FELTP) of Pakistan was established to enhance national capacity in disease surveillance and outbreak response in line with the International Health Regulations (IHR) 2005. Pakistan's FELTP is a joint initiative of the National Institute of Health in Islamabad, the Ministry of Health Services Regulation and Coordination, and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The program has been accredited by TEPHINET, the global FETP network, in 2019.

In collaboration with University of Health Sciences in Lahore, the program grants an MSc in Field Epidemiology. The program launched its basic, three-month modality in 2016 as an in-service training program for public health workers from all levels and who are actively involved in disease surveillance.
