The Federal Ministry of Health in Sudan partnered with GHD|EMPHNET to establish the country’s Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) to improve surveillance and public health response to outbreaks and emergencies in the country. The program is recognized by the Sudan Medical Specialization Board as an MSc program.
Achievements
- Supporting investigations of outbreaks around the country such as Malaria, Dengue, Cholera, Chikungunya, Rift Valley Fever, and COVID-19 pandemic
- In response the 2020 floods, FETP residents made important contributions being recognized by experts for “the improvement of surveillance and response systems across the country with the contribution of the program’s residents”
